of Pema Treks and Expeditions, Kathmandu, Nepal
September 21st, 7pm at the store. Call to reserve your spot.
Pema was the first guide to successfully lead Western clients across The Great Himalayan Trail (1540 km/ 960 mi), which traverses the high passes and terrain along the entire northern region of Nepal. Because of this extraordinary feat, he knows many of the remote mountain regions across Nepal.
Pema will share his experience as a mountain and trekking guide in Nepal. With over 20 passes in Nepal above 5000m (16,400 ft) and many peaks in the 5,500-7000m (18,000 – 23,000 ft) range, Pema will show us that you do not need advanced technical climbing skills to visit the high mountains. So, come and experience Nepal’s breathtaking scenery through Pema’s presentation, and perhaps consider planning your own Himalayan adventure in a country with 14 of the world’s highest peaks.
Pema will also highlight Nepal’s geography – some of the most diverse and scenic in the world! In less than 150 km (100 mi) from sea level you can explore Chitwan National Park, spotting rhinos, tigers and elephants. Then fly into the village of Lukla where you can begin your trek into Sagarmatha National Park, the home of Mt. Everest. Here you can see an amazing diversity of birds, animals and plant life as you travel up the deepest mountain valleys. Finally, you will also enjoy Pema’s pictures of Kathmandu and its Hindu and Buddhist cultures.
